Matt I implied no such thing about KSEX. I said quite directly that something can not be deemed legal simply because they did it. They were without legal guidance. You should not make up any further meaning.
As far as the actual matter at hand, the word has come quite clearly from the legal depts at both Sirius and Playboy. Canadians are not elegible for prizes due to canadian law.

An answer! But is that due to Canadian Customs laws or laws related to lotteries and contests? And PBR broadcasts from a brothel though crossing state lines for the purposes of prostitution is illegal. See "Mann Act." Aiding and abetting makes someone a principal. Just saying! Canadian courts may or may not have jurisdiction over PBR, but US federal courts sure do. Legal guidance, whether from me, or the "crack" attorneys of Playboy can be wrong. Playboy had to settle with DirecTV over the SpiceTV case. Opinions expressed here are those of Bill, and do NOT constitute legal advice! So the bottom line, lawful or not, no prizes to Canadians?! Sorry for our northern neighbors, eh? Bill pbradio wrote: Matt I implied no such thing about KSEX. I said quite directly that something can not be deemed legal simply because they did it. Lawyers are often wrong. Judges and Juries who decide on cases where defendants followed a lawyer's advice are often wrong. The Supreme Court of the United States is often wrong.
And anyone who makes the leap from whether contest winnings can be mailed to Canada, to Prostitution and the Mann Act... to the supposed settlement of an irrelevant legal matter.... and then discredits his own advice... is wading into territory he often rails against. (the hijacking of a thread, the self aggrandizing posts, etc)

Topic was Canadian contest winners and legal opinions related thereto. Point was legal opinions can be wrong. No hijack. As stated, bottom line, is PBR will not be sending stuff to Canadian contest winners as PB wants to be law-abiding. I guess case closed. I feel sorry for Canadians, but there was a time when you did not even have a toll-free number. Now THAT's a change of topic lol.

Matt, If you make arrangements with Marie to come into the studio, I'm sure you'd leave with more than just panties.

But Farrell, Night Calls seems to have discontinued or at least scaled back listener guests this year. I did leave with less food than I brought and hope you enjoyed the sushi in March, lol!
